MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Led by an eighth-place finish by the women's team, the Sewanee cross country squads competed at the Berry Invitational Saturday morning.

-All but one runner competing in Saturday's meet improved their 6K runs.
-Avery Jordan led Sewanee with a 24:58.54 mark. The freshman finished 42nd overall and 11th among Division III runners.
-Ann Chapman Haynes finished 65th out of 217 pack of runners from across NCAA Division I, II, III, community colleges and the NAIA, finishing 25:42.78.
-Other finishes include Perry Gresham (26:22.38), Adriana Hibarra (26:32.61), Sophia Harnew-Spradley (28:15.78), Mary Ackerly (28:27.73), Patricia Hammett (28:50.87), Haley Hubert (29:07.50), Constance Ambler (29:23.25), Kathryn Civils (31:13.20) and Luna Goodale (31:34.31).
-Sewanee finished in eighth place out of 24 teams, fifth out of 10 NCAA Division III teams.
-Ash Midyett finished outside of the top 50 with a 51st-place finish at 27:19.69, improving his season-best by over 90 seconds.
-Jack Barganier finished 69th with a 27:45.68 time, while Bram Atkins crossed the line at 28:02.43.
-Other finishers include Ben Murray (28:06.34), William Rich (28:37.67), Henry Fisher (31:03.38), Rob Ritchie (31:57.40) and Henry Fields (33:09.36).
-The Tigers finished 11th of 24 teams, 6th of 11 Division III teams.
Sewanee will head to Memphis for the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships on Oct. 27.
