LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Thursday that two Sewanee volleyball players have been named to the AVCA All-South Region team.
Stewart collects her second All-Region honor in her three-year career with the Tigers. The Alpharetta, Ga. native recorded 323 kills, averaging 3.11 per set. Totaling 363.5 points, the junior exceeded 1,000 career kills in the Tigers' 3-0 win over Oglethorpe on Oct. 26.
The 2019 All-SAA First Team member added 33 total blocks and a career-best 322 digs.
Reilly earns her first AVCA Region selection as a sophomore. The Lovettsville, Va. native finished 54th in the nation in service aces with 59, averaging 0.55 per set.
Earning a Second Team selection with the SAA, Reilly recorded career-bests in both digs (320) and kills (293).
The Southern Athletic Association saw eight student-athletes named to the All-South Region Team.
Sewanee concluded the 2019 season with a 20-10 season and a semifinal appearance in the SAA Tournament. This marks the first time the program has won 20 matches in back-to-back seasons based on acquired records beginning in 1991.
