Mabry, Simmons Sweep SAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

ATLANTA - The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced on Tuesday that Kate Mabry (Swimmer) and Paisley Simmons (Diver) have swept the Women's Swimming and Diving weekly awards after their performances last week in a dual meet versus Berry.

Mabry won both the 100 and 200 backstroke events in the meet on Saturday. In the 100-yard event, the Nashville, Tenn. native swam a 59.70-second performance, good for second-best in the league.

Later in the 200, Mabry posted a 2:11.45, as she is also second in the league in this event.

Along with her work in the backstroke, the 2019 All-SAA Second Team selection in the backstroke captured a 2:21.32 time for third place in the 200 individual medley.

Paisley Simmons, Women's Diver of the Week
Simmons won both diving events on Saturday, as she has qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships for the third straight year.

The Louisville, Ky. native totaled 178.45 points in her first five attempts on the one-meter. Later on in her final six dives, she scored 227.90 to finish with 406.35 points, missing her career-best by 4.5 points.

Sewanee returns to action this weekend on the road with dual meets at Centre on Saturday before wrapping up the weekend at Transylvania on Sunday.
