Early Goal Not Enough as Women’s Soccer Ends Season at the SAA Championship

CONWAY, Ark. - The Sewanee women's soccer team struck first, but they were unable to hold the lead as Hendrix scored four unanswered goals to win the quarterfinal match of the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Women's Soccer Championship, Saturday evening.

-The Tigers offense got into gear in the 12th minute. Carter Cooper netted her second goal of the season into the top left corner to give the visitors the early 1-0 lead.

-The lead would not last long, as Hendrix scored in a span of almost two minutes to take the 2-1 advantage.

-The Warriors would not let up from there, as Hagan Griffith scored the final three goals for the hat trick.

-With the win, Hendrix will next face top-seed and undefeated Centre in the semifinals in Danville, Ky. Rhodes and Berry will face off in the other semifinal match after their quarterfinal wins. 

-Carter Cooper netted the first goal of the contest on four total shots.

-Hanna Judycki (4-9-2) stopped four shots for the Tigers.

-Hagan Griffith contributed on all four goals for the Warriors, scoring three and assisting on one.

-Laycee Carpenter (5-4) who played the first half, recorded the win and saved one shot.
