Sarah Strand led the Tigers with a career-best seven goals on 11 shots in Sewanee's 22-12 win over Hendrix over the weekend. Finishing the game with eight points thanks to an assist, the sophomore also added eight draw controls.
In the second half, Hendrix cut the deficit to 16-10 with 20 minutes left, but the sophomore recorded three straight goals to put the contest away.
The Natick, Mass. is third in the league in draw controls (63), tied for fourth in goals scored (43) and ninth in points (54).
Hattie Fogarty recorded a career-best six forced turnovers, recording one-third of the team's forced turnovers (18), and tied a career-high in draw controls with seven in the Tigers' 22-12 victory over the Warriors.
The freshman also scooped up seven ground balls as she added two goals and an assist.
The Memphis, Tenn. native is third in the conference in ground balls (61), fifth in forced turnovers (33) and eighth in draw controls (41). The midfielder has been a threat on the offensive side of the ball, totaling 34 points on 18 goals and 16 assists.
The regular season will conclude next Saturday for Sewanee, as a first round bye in the SAA Tournament will be on the line as Centre comes to the Domain. The winner of this contest will earn an opening round bye and the right to host a semifinal game in the conference tournament, scheduled to begin April 19.
