SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee softball team wrapped up the 2019 season, the 21st year of the program.
Sewanee recorded three wins this past season, all coming in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Tigers recorded wins against Sarah Lawrence (N.Y.), Principia (Ill.) and Southern Vermont.
Rachel Hoffman led Sewanee with a .388 batting average with 29 hits, five doubles and a homer, and 20 RBI.
Peri Prestwood posted a .300 batting average with 24 hits, nine doubles, a triple and two dingers, with 11 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Taylor Wagner scored 17 runs and posted 27 total hits for a .310 batting clip.

Playing in its final day of competition at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the Tigers opened the day on March 22 with a shutout of Southern Vermont, 8-0.
Sewanee scored in each inning to secure the run-rule, shutout victory.
In the first inning, Taylor Wagner scored the first run of the contest thanks to a Southern Vermont error, one of five that the team committed on the day.
In the second, Miranda Townsend scored the team's second run on an error.
In the circle, Goodrum tossed her first collegiate shutout, allowing just one base hit out of 16 batters.
