MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Sewanee softball team resumed Southern Athletic Association play on Saturday after their spring break trip in Florida, as the Tigers fell to the Lynx of Rhodes College in a doubleheader, 5-3 and 11-3, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-After a scoreless first inning, the Tigers' bats came out swinging in the next two innings. Caroline Sweetin opened the scoring with a solo homer.
-The Lynx responded with a four-run fourth inning to take the lead for good before adding an add-on run in the fifth.
-In the sixth, O'Reilly led off the frame with a single. After a sacrifice bunt, the Tigers sent two fly balls to the outfield, but the Lynx were there to catch them to end the frame.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-Rhodes started the contest with a six-run first inning, capped by a Jill Healy home run.
-The Tigers cut the deficit in the second inning. Caroline Sweetin led off the frame with a single. After a Katie Bender walk, Charlsey Shirey moved the runners up to second and third with a groundout.
-Taylor Wagner broke the shutout with an RBI single on an infield hit.
-After a strikeout, and with runners at the corners, Katie Roth reached first on an error. Bender scored on the play.
-Rhodes added a run in the second and three in the third to push the home team's lead to 10-2.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Katie Roth notched a hit in each game for the Tigers.
-Jackie O'Reilly went 2-for-3 in game one of the doubleheader with two RBI, a homer (6) and a run scored. In the circle, the freshman (4-11) allowed two earned runs on eight hits in six innings.
-Caroline Sweetin (0-7) suffered the loss in game two, allowing six runs in one inning pitched. At the plate, she scored a run in each game, including a dinger (1) in the opening contest.
RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Peyton Clark went 2-for-3 with an RBI in game one. In game two, she scored twice.
-Kirsten Samuels and Kendall Henry each tallied three hits in game two, with Henry driving in three runs.
-Bri Maniscalco (9-3) tossed the complete game in game one, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out seven.
-Jamie Jang (2-0) allowed one earned in three innings for the Lynx in game two.
The series with Rhodes concludes on Sunday with a noon first pitch.
