Cross Country Teams Earn Academic Honors from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS - The Sewanee cross country teams have earned team All-Academic Awards from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, announced on Thursday afternoon.

As at team, the men's program finished with a cumulative grade point average of 3.33, while the women accomplished a team GPA of 3.43.

For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have completed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.

Berry, Birmingham-Southern, Centre and Rhodes join Sewanee from the Southern Athletic Association as team representatives for both men's and women's teams.

The Sewanee women's cross country team finished fourth at the SAA Championships this past fall, while the men earned fifth place.
