2018-19 YEAR IN REVIEW: Swimming & Diving

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee swimming and diving teams saw over 10 new school records set during the 2018-19 season, and more names were inked into the all-time top-10 times for the programs.

Men's Recap
A total of 20 events have been added in the all-time men's top-10, with five events becoming school records.

The Tigers finished the Southern Athletic Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex with a fifth place finish of 434.5 points.

Lee Haber set two new school records during the year in the 500 freestyle and the 400 individual medley. Additionally, he was also a part of the new record in the 800 freestyle relay, as he earned First Team All-SAA. Joining Haber are four other student-athletes named All-Conference.

Women's Recap
The women's team saw 21 events etched into the women's top-10, as six total events, two swimming and four diving, were new school records.

At the SAA Championships, the team finished in fifth place with 437 points.

For the second straight year, Sewanee sent Paisley Simmons and Noel Whitlock to the NCAA Diving Regional Championships in both the one- and three-meter dives.

Simmons scored postseason-bests in both diving events, scoring 338.45 points in the one-meter and 356.25 in the three-meter.

Whitlock, named the conference's Diver of the Year, scored 335.80 points in the one-meter, but she set a postseason-best with a 361.10 point performance in the three-meter.

Along with Whitlock's First Team selection, three other female swimmers and divers were named All-Conference.

Memorable Meet | Igloo Invitational, Nov. 16-17
The teams each won the Igloo Invitational on campus, as the men's team scored 745 points and the women posted 799.

Sewanee won 11 of the 41 events at the meet, as Paisley Simmons and Noel Whitlock qualified for NCAA Regional Championships. Additionally, Kate Mabry and Gabby Acker took home multiple wins over the two-day event.
