SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee field hockey team earned their second Southern Athletic Association (SAA) victory on Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers defeated Concordia Wisconsin, 3-0, from Puett Field.
However, the Falcons (3-6, 0-4) made it interesting, as their defense allowed 12 first half shots, but only one goal allowed after 35 minutes of play.
However, in the second half, the Tigers took off, taking 18 shots in the second half and scoring twice in the period. In the 46th minute, Caffrey found Katie's Wilson's pass for her 10th score of the year.
Wilson added a key insurance goal in the 55th minute for her fourth goal of the year.
For the match, Sewanee outshot CUW, 30-14 in the contest, and it is the second time this season the Purple and Gold posted 30 or more shots in a match.
Sewanee will next host Transylvania Monday evening for a 5 p.m. faceoff.
