No. 15 Sewanee earns wins over Covenant, Rhodes, and Hendrix
SEWANEE, Tenn. (April 7, 2013) – The No. 15-ranked Sewanee women's tennis team improved its record to 14-5 with victories over rivals Covenant, Rhodes, and Hendrix this past weekend.
On Saturday, Sewanee opened with a 9-0 win over the Scots and then an 8-1 victory over the Lynx. A day later, Sewanee cruised past Hendrix with a perfect 9-0 win.

Overall, Sewanee completely dominated in doubles as the Tigers swept all nine matches.

In singles play, Sewanee kept rolling. Against Covenant Liz Lucas, Kate Johnston, Mary Taylor Tepper, Elske Parker, Connor Thomas, and Hastings Johnson all earned easy straight set victories.

Later in the day, the Tigers breezed past Rhodes after Bronte Goodhue, Jenny Liles, Lindsey Liles, Annie Veron, and Julia Wood all won in straight sets.

Finally, after Sewanee honored its five seniors, Anne Garland, Meredith Lawrence, Jenny Liles, Wood, and Mary Catherine Horne, the Tigers blanked the Warriors.

In that match all five seniors, along with Mariah Smith, earned straight set wins.
