ATLANTA - The Sewanee women's soccer team used a first half goal to lift the Tigers over the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe, 1-0, Saturday afternoon from Oglethorpe Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers broke the scoring in the 21st minute thanks to a Kiera Giacomini unassisted goal for her third of the season. After Lindsey Bolas blocked the shot at the net, the freshman collected her own rebound and found the back of the net.
-The Sewanee defense held the Petrels to four shots, two in the second half, both were saved by Hanna Judycki.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kiera Giacomini scored the lone goal for the Tigers on five shots.
-Hanna Judycki (3-5-2) saved two shots in full time for Sewanee and earned the clean sheet.
OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-Sam Thornton took two of the four shots for Oglethorpe.
-Lindsey Bolas (3-5) stopped two shots in full time.
The Tigers will step out of SAA play for a non-conference contest with MUW. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night from Puett Field.
