Offense comes alive in win at Berry

ROME, Ga. (March 30, 2014) – Three goals from Brita Brudvig and Sally Anne Greenwood helped the Sewanee women's lacrosse team to an impressive 17-8 win over Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Berry, Sunday, at Ford Field.

The Tigers scored 12 goals in the first half and another five in the final 30 minutes of play.

Overall, Sewanee led in almost every offensive statistical category. The Tigers finished with an advantage in draw controls, shots, and free position shot goals. Sewanee also caused more turnovers while tying the Vikings in groundballs.

Along with Greenwood and Brudvig, Payton Fields, Katie Riddle, and Chelsea Staunton finished with more than one goal. Additionally, Wittney Reed and Janie Hannon also scored.

On defense Alexis Crittenden, Mallory Grimm, Riddle, Greenwood, and Dori Wilson all had caused turnovers while freshman Crawford Horan finished with five saves in goal.

Sewanee returns home for the first time since March 9 for a noon match against Millsaps, Saturday.
