Sewanee Falls in SAA Tourney Elimination Game

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Sewanee softball team saw its season come to an end on Friday at the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Softball Tournament, falling to Millsaps, 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the second inning, Rachel Hoffman led off the frame with a solo shot to left field to give Sewanee the 1-0 advantage.

-In the bottom half of the frame, Millsaps loaded the bases with one out. After a fielder's choice that saw Lindsay Osbon out at the plate, MK Bozeman, with a full count, ended the frame on an interference call.

-The Majors took their first lead of the game in the bottom half of the third with two runs in the frame before adding four key insurance runs in the fourth.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-After being named to the All-SAA Team on Thursday, Rachel Hoffman ended her junior year with a bang going 1-for-3 with a homer.

-Charlsey Shirey, named to the All-Tournament Team, finished the day with a 1-for-3 performance at the plate.

-Jackie O'Reilly (4-19) allowed five earned on six hits in four innings for the Tigers in the circle.

MILLSAPS KEY STATISTICS
-MK Bozeman reached base three times in the contest, and stole three bases.

-Kendall Carder drove in two runs for the Majors.

-Blair Little started for Millsaps, and she allowed an earned run in two innings. Cassidy Denoon (9-8) struck out six in five shutout innings.
