2018-19 SEASON PREVIEW: Swimming & Diving

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee swimming and diving teams gear up for the 2018-19 season this Thursday night with a dual meet with Centre College.

SOPHOMORE TRIO OF SUCCESS: Carl Failing, Lee Haber and James Hoyt return for their second season with the swimming and diving program.

Haber collected First Team All-Conference honors after winning the 200-yard breaststroke with a personal best time of 2:06.53.

Failing swam to an All-Conference Second Team finish in the 100 breaststroke with a school record time of 51.13 seconds.

Hoyt earned an Honorable Mention selection with his help in the 400-yard medley relay.

BRINGIN' IT ON THE BOARDS: Sewanee will look to Paisley Simmons and Noel Whitlock in the 2018-19 season. The duo qualified for the NCAA Zone Regional Championships last season with the performances on the board.

Whitlock will look to improve on her school records in the one- and three-meter dives. The junior has obtained 248.10 points in the one-meter, six dive, 266.70 in the three-meter, six, 430.42 points in the one-meter, 11 and 447.90 in the three-meter 11.

#Sewanee2022: 15 newcomers will open the 2018-19 season with the swimming and diving program: Gabby Acker, Anthony Carbone, Elodie Cardon-Cole, Anna Hawkins Dulaney, Annie Heller, Isabell Loy, Kate Mabry, Max Peraza, Wiley Reddick, Lucy Rudman, Christian Snead, Hall Squiers, Noah Young, Thomas Young and Delaney Wood.

MEET TO WATCH: Sewanee's dual meet with Rhodes should be circled on the calendar. Scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Fowler Center Pool, the men's team collected a 103-101 win over the Lynx on Senior Day.
