SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Berry Vikings used a 5-1 fourth quarter to down the Sewanee men's lacrosse team and spoil Senior Day on Saturday from a rainy, foggy Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium. With Saturday's loss, Sewanee will enter the 2018 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Men's Lacrosse Tournament as the three-seed and will host a first round contest on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee came out shooting to start the contest, scoring three of the first four goals, including two goals in the first minute of the contest.
-Berry made it a one-goal contest with a Miles Mitchell goal with 1:01 left in the opening quarter.
-With Sewanee leading 4-3 after 15 minutes of play, each team scored four times in the second quarter to take an 8-7 lead at the break.
-Trailing 6-5 with 7:19 left in the opening half, the Tigers scored three straight goals in almost a three-minute span before Berry added a goal with 1:05 left in the half.
-Sewanee started the second half with three goals to push the lead to 11-7 with 4:39 to go.
-The Vikings responded with two goals at the end of the third period to push the deficit down to two, 11-9, heading into the fourth quarter.
-In the fourth, Berry evened the score with two goals in a 38-second span with 12:54 to go.
-Sewanee reclaimed the lead three-plus minutes late on a Will pratt goal, but the visitors responded with three unanswered goals to secure the match and a first round bye in the 2018 SAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
-Berry's defense held up for the final 19:39, as they allowed one Sewanee goal in that span.
-Will Pratt recorded a career-high in points (6) and goals (5) on Saturday. The junior took six total shots.
-Ryan Stubits won 23-of-30 faceoffs and scooped up 12 groundballs.

-Justin Westbrook, Luke Koferi and Chris Berchock each recorded hat tricks for the Vikings.
-Riley Brogdon (6-2) earned the win in goal with seven saves in the second half.
The Tigers will next open the 2018 SAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Friday with an opening round matchup at historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium. Seedlings and faceoff time are yet to be determined.
