Tommy Oliver Garners PING All-Region Honor

NORMAN, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of America has announced that sophomore golfer Tommy Oliver has earned PING All-South Region honors, becoming the first Sewanee men's golfer to be named to the region team since the award began in 2007.

Oliver, who was selected as a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award, led the team with a 73.25 stroke average and recorded a low round score of 71.

The Co-Southern Athletic Association Player of the Year scored a three-round low of 217 (74-72-71) at the Tournament Town Preview at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. His two-round low came twice with identical 145 scores, first at the SAA Preview in September (72-73) and the Discover Dekalb Emory Invitational in April (74-71).

The Sewanee native recorded three top-10 finishes, including a fifth place finish at the Tournament Town Preview and sixth at the SAA Championships (223 | 74-73-76).
