SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 6, 2013) – The Sewanee football team will kick off its 119th season Saturday, as the Tigers welcome DePauw for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff, at Harris Stadium at McGee Field.

Saturday marks the 15th meeting between the two former Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) members.

The Tigers own a 262-155-11 record all-time at home and have won their last three season openers. Sewanee is 2-12 all-time against DePauw.

After a 3-7 season a year ago, third-year head Tommy Laurendine returns 14 letterwinners. This includes 2012 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Newcomer of the Year Brandon Campbell and three other all-conference players.

Last season, Sewanee led the conference in rushing at 269 yards per game and had the fewest sacks allowed.

DePauw travels to Sewanee after hiring back head coach Bill Lynch. After coaching at Indiana University for four seasons, Lynch returns to DePauw this fall. Previously, Lynch led the Tigers to an 8-2 record en route to being named the 2008 co-SCAC Coach of the Year.

The Tigers began its fall camp with 114 players, which included 15 letterwinners. Of those players, DePauw returns quarterbacks Justin Murray and Drew Seaman, who combined to throw 2,199 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.

DePauw also welcomes back its two leading rushers from a year ago. Tailbacks Armani Cato finished with 322 yards and five touchdowns while Amen Galley rushed for 289 yards and one score.
