SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee junior
Taylor Irwin (Brentwood, Tenn., Battle Ground Academy)has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-South Region Team for his play in 2010, according to the ABCA. Irwin is a three-time All-SCAC performer, also.
Irwin, an outfielder for the Tigers, batted .406 for the season. He also led the Tigers in slugging percentage (.677), on-base percentage (.450), hits (54), RBI (36), doubles (14) and total bases (90).
“We're very happy for Taylor,” said Sewanee coach Scott Baker. “He works hard to be an outstanding hitter and it is great to see him receive such an honor. More importantly, he is one of the best people I have had the pleasure to coach, is a great example of what a student-athlete should be, and is a terrific representative of Sewanee. We look forward to a fourth strong season from ‘TI’ in 2011.”
