COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado College hosted Sewanee in Division III women’s lacrosse on Sunday and the host Tigers topped the visiting purple Tigers of Sewanee 18-11. Sewanee led 7-5 at the half, but CC rallied in the second and outscored Sewanee 13-4 for the seven-goal win.


Meg Welton (Germantown, Tenn., Houston) led Sewanee’s scoring with three goals and also had five draw controls. Megan Velie (Charlottesville, Va., St. Anne's- Belfield) and Molly Arnold (Brooklandville, Md., Bryn Mawr) scored two goals each. Steffi Renninger (Darnestown, Md., Sidwell Friends) contributed three assists. Hanna Moran (Towson, Md., Towson) had a team high five ground balls for the Tigers and Amy Nusbaum (Norfolk, Va., Norfolk Academy) had 11 saves in goal. Grace Maloney and Gioia Garden led CC with four goals apiece. Colorado College outshot Sewanee 37-29 and won 18 draw controls compared to 12 for Sewanee.


Sewanee finishes the season at 13-4 overall and Colorado improves to 8-5.
