SEWANEE, Tenn. – Chris Shank will be the next member of the Sewanee football coaching staff and will be responsible for the defensive line, according to head coach Robert Black. Shank comes to the Mountain from Muskingum, where he has been an assistant coach for the last season. Prior to his stint in New Concord, Shank was an assistant coach at Lehigh University from 2005-2008. He was also on the staff at Heidelberg from 2003-2005.
The Muskingum grad earned a B.A. in physical education in 2003 after four successful year on the Muskie football squad. He was All-Conference his senior year as a tight end. In 2005, Shank earned a master’s degree in education from Heidelberg.
“Chris brings significant football experience to our staff, and we are very pleased to have him with us,” said Black. “Chris played Division III football and understands everything about it from the day to day operations to recruiting. His coaching stops along the way will help our program grow in many ways and we look forward to his being with us.
