Greensboro Women's Lacrosse Stops Sewanee

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro took a narrow 8-6 lead over Sewanee’s women’s lacrosse team Saturday and then increased its lead to seven for an 18-11 win in favor of the host Pride.

Steffi Renninger (Darnestown, Md., Sidwell Friends) led Sewanee’s effort with four goals. Megan Welton (Germantown, Tenn., Houston) scored three goals for the Tigers. Toni Battaglia led Greensboro with four goals. Greensboro outshot Sewanee 34-28 and also led in ground balls 15-12. The Pride also got 20 of 29 draw controls.

Sewanee is now 9-3 and will play at Guilford on Sunday. Greensboro is 12-3 so far in 2010.
