Fontbonne Tops Sewanee in Men's Lacrosse Action

St. LOUIS – Fontbonne hosted Sewanee in men’s lacrosse action on Sturday and after Sewanee took a 5-3 first half lead, Fontbonne rallied for the 8-7 win over the visiting Tigers.

Thomas Moore (Dallas, Texas, Episcopal) led Sewanee’s scoring with two goals. Teddy Peterson (McLean, Va., Episcopal ) led the Tigers with six ground balls and was 11-18 in faceoffs. Ray Medalla led Fontbonne with four goals. Stewart Calder (New Canaan, Conn., New Canaan HS)had 11 saves in goal for Sewanee, while Chad Muerer also had 11 saves in goal for the Griffins. Fontbonne outshot Sewanee 40-29 and each team had 19 ground balls.

Sewanee is now 1-9 and will play Mount St. Joseph on Sunday. Fontbonne is 3-6 so far in 2010.
