SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee swimmer
Anthony Caskey (Miami, Fla., Suncoast) and
Caitlyn White (Hopkinsville, Ky., Hopkinsville) were recently among those honored by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) for sportsmanship, according to Dwayne Hanberry, SCAC commissioner. This is the second annual Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving All-Sportsmanship teams. Eighteen men's and women's swimmers were selected to the 2010 squad. Each head coach was asked to elect one member from his or her team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season.
"Anthony was a fantastic addition to Sewanee Swimming this season as a sophomore,” said Sewanee coach Max Obermiller. “He brings an incredible amount of enthusiasm and spirit to the team that his teammates feed off of and are inspired by during practices and meets. He always manages to come through with positive encouragement when the team needs it most."
“Caitlyn, a senior, brings an element of sportsmanship and leadership to the team that will certainly be missed next season. For four years, Caitlyn has been willing to step in to any role necessary to help the team be successful. However, not only does Caitlyn lead by example, she takes a positive interest in her team that is contagious and simply brings out the best in everyone around her,” Obermiller concluded.
