Sewanee Baseball Rallies in Game 2 for a 10-0 Shutout after a slow start in game 1

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- After a narrow 3-2 loss to Centre in the opener, Sewanee baseball rallied in game 2 for a 10-0 shutout of SCAC rival Cente. The Tigers stood behind the arm of senior hurler Greg Bartleski (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant), who pitched the full game shutout and three-hitter.

In game 1, Chris Mauro (Washington, D.C., St. Alban's) led Sewanee with two hits and an RBI. Alan Komorowski (Rochester, N.Y., Aquinas Institute) and Taylor Irwin (Brentwood, Tenn., Battle Ground Academy) scored for Sewanee. Logan Ray (Estill Springs, Tenn., Franklin County) took the loss on the mound for Sewanee and only allowed six hits. Joe Nash got the pitching win for Centre.

In game 2, Connor Liston (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Episcopal) led the Tiger bats with three hits and three RBIs. Komorowski had a hit, a run and drove in three runs. Irwin and Franklin Pogue (Nashville, Tenn., Father Ryan) had two hits each. For Centre, Andy Hagerman took the pitching loss.

Sewanee is now 1-7 and is at .500 in the SCAC with a 1-1 league record. Centre is 1-4 and 1-1 in the SCAC. The Tigers and Colonels will face off in a single game tomorrow.
