WINTER HAVEN, Fla. 3/16/10 – The Sewanee Tigers, behind the pitching of Wilson Nealy (Nashville, Tenn., Montgomery Bell Academy) and the bat of Alan Komorowski (Rochester, N.Y., Aquinas Institute), defeated Vassar College today in Russ-Matt Invitational baseball action by the score of 15-5. The Tigers are now 4-1 on their spring break trip.
Nealy went the distance in the game allowing five hits, three earned runs and striking out eight Vassar batters. The lefthander walked only three.
Komorowski was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two triples and five RBI. Franklin Pogue (Nashville, Tenn., Father Ryan) picked up three hits, including a double and drove in two runs. Michael Joseph (Orlando, Fla., Dr. Phillips) and Connor Liston (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Episcopal) each had two hits and two RBI.
With the win, the Tigers upped their record to 5-9. They will continue action tomorrow in the Russ-Matt as they face McDaniel College at 9:30 am
