BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Sewanee track and field teams competed at Birmingham-Southern Saturday and faced off mostly against Division I and Division II teams.
For the women,
Leisha Meade (Sevierville, Tenn., Pigeon Forge) finished seventh in the hammer throw (31.79) eighth in the shot put (28.69 meters).
Cara Martin (Oklahoma City, Okla, Casady) finished ninth in the 5000.
For the men,
Justin Taylor (Tampa, Fla., Jesuit) highlighted the Sewanee effort with a medal finish on a third-place toss of 38.88 in the discus.
Chalankis Brown (Millbrook, Ala., Stanhope Elmore) finished sixth in the 100 meter dash with a mark of 11.36.
Sewanee’s next competition will be at the Rhodes Invitational March 26 and 27 in Memphis.
