MEMPHIS - Sewanee and Rhodes faced off in SCAC women's basketball Friday night and the host Lynx topped the visiting Tigers 86-54. After falling behind 49-13 in the first, Sewanee outscored Rhodes 41-37 in the second.

Lauren Gulley (Winchester, Tenn., Franklin County) led Sewanee with 14 points. Juliene Joyner (Franklin, Tenn., Ouachita Christian) was also in double digits for the Tigers and Alex Ginsburg (Hollywood, S.C., Pinewood Prep) led with nine rebounds. The Tigers made 11 three-pointers and had 14 steals. Nationally, they are first in three pointers per game and 12th in steals per game. The Tigers are also fifth in turnover margin. Sharwil Bell led Rhodes with 18 points. Rhodes led in field goal percentage 46%-21% and had a 58-38 edge in rebounds.

Sewanee is now 6-14 and is 2-10 in the SCAC. The Tigers will play at Birmingham-Southern Sunday. Rhodes is 12-9 and 5-6 in the league. The Lynx will play Oglethorpe on Sunday.
