DePauw Holds Off Sewanee Men

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- After falling back 14-2 in the first seven minutes of the game, Sewanee rallied, outscoring DePauw for the rest of the contest, but DePauw held the host Sewanee Tigers off and got the 50-41 SCAC men's basketball win. Sewanee senior Jeremy Simpson (Decatur, Tenn., McMinn County) was honored for Senior Night Before the game.

Garrett Hollingsworth (Roanoke, Va., North Cross) led Sewanee with 13 points and Trent Williams (Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Lawrence County)was also in double digits with 11 points. Tyler Brown (Goodlettsville, Tenn., Beech) led Sewanee with nine rebounds. Tony James led DePauw with 13 points. Sewanee had the edge in field goal percentage, shooting 39% from the field, while DePauw shot 36%. The deciding factor was turnovers, though, with Sewanee turning it over 22 times compared to just six for DePauw.

Sewanee falls to 4-18 and is 1-13 in the SCAC. The Tigers will host Centre in their final home game on Sunday. DePauw is 16-6 and 9-4.
