BOX SCORE

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sewanee and Hendrix faced off in a men’s lacrosse matchup in neutral site Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon and Sewanee edged out the Warriors 10-9 after leading 5-3 at the half. A four-goal fourth quarter nearly gave Hendrix enough to even the score, but a fifth Hendrix fourth quarter goal was called back, giving Sewanee the one-goal edge it needed for the win.

Neat Clark (Houston, Texas, Houston Episcopal School) led Sewanee’s effort with five goals. Will Grimes (Marietta, Ga., Harrison HS) scored two goals for the Tigers, also. Will Finney (Baltimore, Md., Gilman School) logged three assists and also chipped in a goal of his own. Clayton Cersonsky led Hendrix with three goals. Sewanee outshot Hendrix 36-35 and won 15 of 22 faceoffs.

The Sewanee Tigers are now 4-9 in 2009 and will play host Colorado College tomorrow.
