2009 Men's Lacrosse: Sewanee Topples Birmingham-Southern
Will Finney scored four goals on Wednesday.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sewanee traveled to Birmingham to play the Birmingham-Southern men’s lacrosse team and topped the host Panthers 11-6 after leading 8-3 at the half.

Will Finney (Baltimore, Md., Gilman School) led Sewanee with four goals and an asisst. Neat Clark (Houston, Texas, Houston Episcopal School) scored three goals and Jack Thomasson (Charlottesville, Va., St. Anne's-Belfield) contributed two. Will Grimes (Marietta, Ga., Harrison HS) scored one goal and assisted on three more. Spencer Graves (Lynchburg, Va., Episcopal ) logged 11 saves in goal in the winning Tiger effort. Birmingham-Southern had six players each score one goal and in addition to his goal, Christopher Buechele chipped in three assists.

Sewanee improves to 3-9 and will play Hendrix and Colorado College in Colorado Springs this weekend. Birmingham-Southern closes 2009 at 6-9 in its inaugural season of varsity lacrosse.
