ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Sewanee played at Lindenwood on Sunday and dropped the road field hockey match 2-1. The 2-1 final score was secured int he first half before a scorless second period.
Clare Ashburn (Washington, D.C., Holton-Arms) took eight shots to lead the Sewanee strike and logged one goal in the effort. Lauren Cato scored both of Lindenwood's goals.
Emily Detmer (Denver, Colo., Pomfret) had four saves in goal for the Tigers. For Lindenwood, Caitlyn Ericson had nine saves in goal. Sewanee outshot Lindenwood 18-9.
Sewanee is now 6-11 and 1-7 in the SCAC. The Tigers will play at the SCAC Championships next weekend.
