SEWANEE, Tenn. - Joe Wilson has accepted the position of assistant coach for the Sewanee men's lacrosse team, according to Marty Watters, head coach for the Tigers. “I really appreciate the opportunity that Coach Watters, Mark Webb and Sewanee have given me,” Wilson said. “I look forward to getting on campus, getting to work and learning everything I can from the athletic staff. I'm a local guy and its great to see the growth of lacrosse in Tennessee; hopefully I can be an addition to that growth.”

A lacrosse player and student since childhood, the Franklin, Tennessee native brought his love for the sport with him to Brentwood Academy, his high school alma mater. Wilson attended the University of Tennessee where he was the vice president, president and captain of the club lacrosse team.

In 2008, Wilson graduated from Tennessee with a bachelors degree in communication with a focus on Journalism and Electronic Media. Prior to his arrival on the Mountain, Joe worked for Harrow Sports and coached at the Woodland Middle School in Brentwood, Tennessee.
