Michael Morris – Men’s Lacrosse– Junior – Charlottesville, Va.
Last week Morris finished with seven goals and seven assists in only two matches. Additionally, Morris had 11 groundballs and five cause turnovers.
As a team, Sewanee won both its contests after outscoring Oglethorpe and Benedictine 36-8.
Overall this season, Morris leads Sewanee with 27 goals, 16 assists, and 43 points.
Bronte Goodhue – Women’s Tennis – Sophomore – Chattanooga, Tenn.
Goodhue finished last week with a perfect 3-0 record. During those matches, Goodhue did not drop a single set against three top-20 teams. With that, the No. 19 Tigers finished with wins over No. 15 Washington & Lee and No. 16 Tufts.
First against W&L, Goodhue defeated the No. 5 singles player in the nation, Sonja Meighan, 6-3, 6-3.
Later in the weekend, Goodhue defeated Lindsey Katz of Tufts 6-1, 6-1 and then won a deciding doubles match with Anne Garland 9-8 at No. 2.
Finally, in Sewanee’s narrow 6-3 loss to No. 12 Washington University, Goodhue defeated Theresa Petraskova 6-4, 6-3.
Overall this season, Goodhue is 12-5 in singles. That record includes four straight victories over the past two weeks. Additionally, Goodhue has faced competitors against seven top-20 teams and is 9-5 at No. 2 doubles.
