CUMMING, Ga. -- Sewanee ad Greensboro squared off in DIII men's lacrosse Friday at West Forsyth High School in Gumming, Ga. and after leading 6-5 at the half, Greensboro edged out the Tigers 12-8.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Coach Robert Black announced today that Jake Wissing, a 2003 DePauw University graduate, has joined the Tiger coaching staff as an assistant coach and will direct the offensive line. Wissing comes from DePauw University where he served in the same capacity since 2007. “We have the utmost respect for DePauw as a university and certainly their football program, so we were very excited to have a chance to speak with Jake about our opening,” said Black. “In getting to know Jake, it was clear that he is a knowledgeable, energetic teacher, who communicates extremely well with people. He will make an immediate impact on our university and our football program from X’s and O’s to recruiting. We also welcome Jake’s soon to be wife, Kelsea to the Mountain as they begin their lives together. We welcome both to our Sewanee Football Family.”

3.10.10 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
SEWANEE, Tenn. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced it’s national All-Academic Teams this week and both the Sewanee men and women were honored. To earn the award, a team must have a team GPA of 3.10 or higher. The Sewanee men had a 3.3 and the Tiger women had a team GPA of 3.27.

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee senior hurler Greg Bartleski (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant) has been named SCAC Pitcher of the Week and also Tiger of the Week for his performance the weekend of March 6-8, 2010.

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee men’s lacrosse team hosted Carthage at Puett Field Monday night and got out to an early 4-1 lead. Carthage began its rally in the second quarter and the score was tied 4-4 at the halftime break. In the second, the teams traded goals until Carthage finally got two goals ahead for the 9-7 win.

MURRAY, Ky. -- The Sewanee Equestrian Team tied for fourth place at Murray, Ky. Sunday with the University of Tennessee (25 points) behind the High Point Team MTSU, Reserve Champion Team Vanderbilt University and third placed host college Murray State University. Sewanee finished the regular season with the overall IHSA Zone 5, Region 1 Hunter Seat Championship Team.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Sewanee hosted Kenyon in Division III tennis on Sunday. The sixth-ranked Lords topped Sewanee 9-0 and the #27 Sewanee women topped the visiting Ladies 6-3. The Sewanee women fell back 2-1 after doubles and then rallied, winning five of six singles matches. Laura Szyperski (Atlanta, Ga., Lovett) and Lindsay Wilburn (Hilton Head, S.C., Hilton Head Christian) picked up Sewanee's doubles win, while Jenny Liles (Little Rock, Ark., Mount St. Mary), Michelle Flume (San Antonio, Tex., St. Mary's Hall), Julia Wood (Tulsa, Okla., Union), Devin Tellatin (St. Louis, Mo., Ladue) and Wilburn took home singles wins for Sewanee.
